THE PLANK
studio 7's vintage 56 channel desk known as 'The Plank' is world famous and totally unique. Based on an MCI console the plank was designed and built by legendary music producer Connie Plank in 1970 for his famous Cologne studio. During the 70s and 80s Connie plank produced some of the greatest albums in history including Kraftwerks 'autobahn' and 'Vienna' by Ultravox. His desk still sounds as good as ever and has been used on many recent albums including works by Hot Chip, Clean Bandit, Franz Ferdinand and Years and Years.
